Apollyon’s Deal Without The Devil

Here is where I show how deep the nerd vein runs. This is from a campaign in a D&D homebrew module called “Midgard” that a friend of mine is running. Apollyon is a tiefling bard who has shaky morals to begin with and has known for a while that his father is a devil, although he has never met him. Tonight is the first time he met his father, who wants to make a deal with him.

It’s just something I threw together with sparse editing or flavoring to help my GM (game master) understand why my bard character is suddenly a Hexblade Warlock. So reader beware: this is incredibly nerdy and is high fantasy. Results may vary. Don’t operate heavy machinery while reading.

They first appeared to Titan as fifty-three stars in the sky, or a sprinkling of diamonds in the void grabbing scintillation from the crescent of Saturn and a far distant sun. They were distant and appeared unmoving against the field of stars and planets. It was a new constellation, and everyone on Titan knew what it portended.

They were still weeks away, but they were coming.

The Conqueor’s Witch – 11: The Two of Wands – Dominion

 

“Why?” Mara asked.

“Enrio the First. Enrio the Great. The First and Last, Lord of the Dominion, etc. etc.,” Jazmynde said. “That is what the Leader’s wanted to be called at the end. At first, his stated goal was unity of the campuses against the greed of Earth. It was a possible solution to a real problem. When the campuses on Mars didn’t fall in line… well, the Roman Cassius said that a man isn’t rich until he can afford his own army. Enrio was fabulously wealthy from exploiting the very campuses he wanted to unify.
